Capacitors Calibration at National Physical Laboratory of Israel

The system for capacitor calibration is developed at National Physical Laboratory of Israel (INPL) on the basis of Gen. Rad. Type 1620 Capacitance Measuring Assembly. Capacitors calibration is carried out by comparisons against the reference capacitance standards of the Gen. Rad. Type 1404B and 1404C, calibrated with combined standard uncertainty of about 0.3 ppm and 0.5 ppm respectively at the Bureau International des Poids et Mesures (BIPM).

 

The system enables the calibrations in a wide range of capacitance from 1 pF to 1 mF at different frequencies (from 200 Hz to 10 kHz) and different applied voltages (from 1 V to 100 V). The best measurement capability of the calibration system expressed as an expanded uncertainty of measurement results at 95% confidence level and coverage factor k=2, is given in the Table below.

The calibration certificates issued by INPL are accepted in all 53 countries signed the Mutual Recognition Arrangement.
